Mariners defeated the Rangers 4-2. Yusei Kikuchi got the win for the Mariners while Hyeon-Jong Yang got the loss for the Rangers. This is the Rangers 12th road loss in a row. Their record is now 22-33 with a 9-20 road record. This is the Rangers’ sixth loss in a row. Ty France got the scoring started in the bottom of the 1st inning with a rbi double to deep left field that brought in Kyle Lewis. Then in the bottom of the 3rd inning France got a single that brought in Lewis and Corey Seager. Corey Seager then got a solo home run in the 5th inning.
Willie Calhoun got the Rangers first hit in the top of the 6th inning ending Kikuchi’s no hit bid. Joey Gallo got a 2 run homer in the top of the 7th inning. But, that was the last of the scoring for the game. Kikuchi gave up just 3 hits in 6 and 2/3 innings pitching. Keynan Middleton got the save for the Mariners. It’s his fourth save of the season. This was the Mariners first series sweep of their season. They have won six of their last 7 games. France had 3 RBIs for the Mariners. Kyle Seager had 2 hits and draw a walk in 3 at bats. Rangers generated just 4 hits this game. They’ll have to bounce back next series vs the Rockies.
