Heat fall to the Bucks 109-107 in OT. This was the first game of the best of seven series between the two a rematch of last year’s semifinals. This was a very winnable game for the Heat but they failed to capitalize on their opportunities. Khris Middleton made a mid range heavily contested shot that put the Bucks up 2 with .5 seconds left. A devastating finish to the game for the Heat. Middleton finished with 27 points. Miami shot an underwhelming 36% from the field and 40 percent behind the arc. Bucks shot 44% from the field but just 16% from behind the arc. Miami missed a lot of open shots along with Bucks. Both teams played pretty well on defense.
The game got to OT because Jimmy Butler made a game tying layup at the buzzer. But Jimmy Butler had a bad game. He shot just 4 for 22 one of his worst games ever. Bam Adebayo shot just 4 for 15 also playing horrendous on Saturday. Heat need Bam too attack and stop playing so passive. Goran Dragic and Duncan Robinson were the only Heat players to show up. Dragic finished with 25 points shooting 10 for 17 from the field and Duncan Robinson shot 7 of 13 all his shots were 3s. In order for Miami to take this series they will need everyone to play well because Bucks is a much better rounded team than last year. Giannis had 26 points and Jrue Holiday had 20 points for the Bucks. Game 2 in on Monday and the Heat need to bounce back.
