Coming off the biggest show of the year, WWE presents to you WWE Wrestlemania Backlash. Backlash has been a staple of WWE PPV since 1999 and when it returned in 2016 it’s safe to say fans were excited to see a household name return. As the name states the event will consist of a lot of Wrestlemania rematches with twists and turns that we won’t see coming. From top to bottom this looks like a solid card with a wrestler I want to win so badly but sadly won’t happen.
Damian Priest vs The Miz
Coming off the biggest win of his young career alongside Bad Bunny, Damian Priest will be looking to add a win over a former WWE Champion to his resume. While the Miz looks for his revenge on Priest for embarrassing him on the grandest stage of them all. But there won’t be anywhere to run for the Miz during this match with WWE Superstars surrounding the ring with the main objective to keep the wrestlers in the ring and that doesn’t favor the Miz at all.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match
Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode (c) vs Dominik & Rey Mysterio
History could be made on this PPV if the Mysterio’s win this match they’ll become the 1st Father-Son duo to win the WWE Tag Team Championships. Over the last couple of weeks the Mysterio’s have been picking up wins over Otis & Gable, and Dominik picked up a singles recently against Dolph Ziggler. All the momentum is towards the Mysterio’s but could Dominik’s lack of championship matches hurt their chances at winning gold and making history. I just know you can’t count veterans like Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.
Raw Women’s Championship Match
Rhea Ripley (c) vs Asuka vs Charlotte Flair
Another PPV, another Charlotte Flair championship and she looks to continue her track to be one of the most accomplished women’s wrestlers of all time. Rhea Ripley looks for her Wrestlemania revenge from 2020, and Asuka is looking to regain her title after her loss at Wrestlemania. Rhea Ripley, one the best young talents in the WWE came right up from NXT and established her dominance right away and now she’s gonna look to retain her 1st title defence.
SmackDown Women’s Championship Match
Bianca Belair (c) vs Bayley
In the same boat as Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair is gonna be having her 1st title defence in her young career. But it ain’t gonna be an easy task taking on the longest reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, Bayley has been on a tear over the last 2 years losing not a lot of matches and being the SmackDown workhorse. Bayley has been pushing around the SmackDown Women’s champion the last couple of weeks to give her a title shot and Bianca finally gave it to her and with that is Bayley in the head of Bianca Belair? We’ll have to wait and see.
Universal Championship Match
Roman Reigns (c) vs Cesaro
Now the match I’m gonna be investing all of life into. Roman Reigns vs Cesaro and yes you heard that correctly Cesaro is getting his rightful world championship match. And yes the odds are against my boy Cesaro but it’s still exciting to see him in this situation that he’s been grinding for, for the last 10+ years. With the recent return of Jimmy Uso to SmackDown and the corruption in the bloodline,we don’t know where Roman’s mind is at coming into this match where Cesaro’s main focus right now is capturing his 1st world championship. This match will be a GUARANTEED All Time match and I can guarantee to you this will be as good as advertised .
WWE Championship Match
Bobby Lashley (c) vs Drew McIntyre vs Braun Strowman
MAIN EVENT TIME!! A triple threat match for the prestigious WWE Championship, Bobby Lashley will be going up against his Wrestlemania opponent Drew McIntyre and former Universal Champion Braun Strowman. Drew picked up his title opportunity after a win over Randy Orton and Braun picked him up after a win. This will be a hard hitting match and don’t expect any shooting star presses expect hard punches, hard impact slams and a lot of destruction.
