Rangers Game Recap: Rangers @ Astros 5/15

Astros defeated the Rangers 6-5. Dane Dunning really struggled through 4 innings giving up 4 runs and 7 hits. Dunning now has a record of 2-3. Astros had no problems hitting his pitches. This is the Rangers 5th straight loss. This was also Luis Garcia’s first career win. Garcia had 5 strikeouts through 5 innings along with just 1 run and 5 hits. Dunning gave up all his runs in the bottom of the first after Lowe hit a sacrifice fly to start off the scoring for the night. Bregman hit a 2 run single and then after Gurriel was grounded into a double play Correa hit a 2 run homer.

Then in the bottom of the 7th inning Kyle Tucker hit a 2 run homer off of Hunter Wood. Rangers made a comeback in the top of the 8th inning. Joey Gallo hit a 3 run home run. Then Andy Ibañez grounded into a fielder’s choice that brought in another run. But in the top of the 9th inning Ryan Pressley downed the Rangers 1-2-3 and the Astros held on to go up 3-0 in the series. For the Rangers Joey Gallo went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs a really good game for him and Nick Solak went 2 for 3 with 2 walks. For the Astros Carlos Correa went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Rangers have 1 game to rebound vs the Astros and end the losing streak. Kyle Gibson will be the pitcher for that game.
