Rangers Game Recap: Red Sox @ Rangers 4/29

Rangers defeated the Red Sox 4-1. Kyle Gibson continues his good pitching allowing 1 run, 3 hits, and struck out 4 people in 6 innings. Kyle Gibson is now 3-0 and has really turned around his season after his terrible start vs the Royals on opening day. Kyle Gibson has really started to prove that he’s the number 1 pitcher for the Rangers. Red Sox really struggled to get their bats going only having 3 hits all game. This is Red Sox’s fourth straight game with 5 or less hits. Perez pitched well for the Red Sox only allowing 5 hits and 1 run through 5 and 2/3 innings. García started off the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 4th that brought in Gallo. And then Devers tied it for the Red Sox in the top of the 6th inning with a RBI double.

In the bottom of the 6th inning Alex Cora decided to make a pitching change bringing in Hirokazu Sawamura to go against Jose Trevino with García on 1st due to a fielding error by Xander Bogaerts. Cora thought it would be a better matchup vs Trevino if he brought in Sawamura but he was wrong. Trevino blasted his 1st homerun on the season to break the tie and give Rangers a 3-1 lead. Then in the next inning Ian Kiner-Falefa hit another homerun and just like that Rangers were up 4-1. Rangers did not give up another hit for the rest of the game and were victorious. Rangers still got 3 more games vs the Red Sox to build upon this win. Jordan Lyles, Mike Foltynewicz, and Kohei Arihara are the pitchers for the Rangers the next 3 games.
