The Celtics are on a two game losing streak and plan to end that tonight. The Celtics walk in to their home court at 32-29, while being the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, looking to get higher for a playoff run. The Oklahoma City Thunder are a different story, however. The Thunder are currently 20-41, and are the thirteenth seed in the Western Conference. Now, that record isn’t the worst in the league by any means, the issue is, they have lost their last 14 games. Now this may come off as a sigh of relief for C’s fans, but a team who have lost fourteen in a row is terrifying. The Celtics have three big injuries, all star players out for the game. The three players are Robert Williams III, Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker. The Thunder have a medley of injuries, having seven players on the injury report. Five of these players are listed as out and they include Al Horford, Mike Muscala, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Gabriel Deck and Josh Hall. The two day-to-days include Luguentz Dort and Tony Bradley. The Celtics can not underestimate this awful team, Jaylen Brown needs to lead the team to victory, and they must play their young guns in order to win this game.
Fourteen games lost in row is abysmal, but it doesn’t mean their fifteenth will be easy. Jaylen Brown has been having his role increase all season, and tonight may be his biggest night to date. Jaylen averages a quiet 24.4 PPG and that is a performance the Celtics need out of him. If Jaylen can put up over his averages, the Celtics can probably just win off of that. The last big thing is playing the young guys. Minutes need to be allocated to players such as Payton Pritchard, Carsen Edwards and Tacko Fall. Payton has played in 55 games, and averages 7.3 PPG in 19.1 MPG. Carsen Edwards is another key especially missing our starting guard Kemba Walker. Now, to the big man. Tacko Fall. Tacko Fall has played in 15 games, and averages 2.7 PPG. If the Celtics get a big lead like I expect, Tacko Fall needs to play to allow him to develop. I want at least ten minutes of playing time for Tacko, just to see what he’s got. The game starts at 7:00 PM EST in the TD Garden, I expect a fifteen point win for the Celtics, hope you enjoyed reading, Shaney out.
