Rangers Game Recap: Rangers @ White Sox 4/23

White Sox defeated the Texas Rangers 9-7. Dane Dunning had his 1st bad game of the season allowing 5 runs in 2.2 innings and 8 hits. White Sox were hitting his balls all over the park. Rookie sensation Yermin Mercedes added to his great season with 4 hits in 4 at bats and 3 RBIs. Yoan Moncada added on with 3 hits and 3 RBIs along with a game sealing solo home run in the 8th. Adam Eaton started off the scoring in the bottom of the 3rd with a ground rule double that brought in runners from 2nd and 3rd. Moncada followed that with a single and then later in the inning Mercedes brought in runners from 2nd and 3rd with a single. Dunning was then taken out but the damage had already been done.

Rangers didn’t go down without swinging. In the 5th inning Adolis García hit a 3 run homer to bring the Rangers within one and then in the 6th inning Isiah Kiner-Falefa got a rbi single to tie the game. But in the 7th inning Mercedes got a rbi double to take the lead for White Sox once again and then Yasmani Grandal hit a ground out that brought in another run. For the Rangers Adolis García continues his great stretch with 2 homers and 4 RBIs. Isiah Kiner-Falefa had 3 hits and 1 RBI in 5 at bats. And Joey Gallo continues his struggles going 0-4. Rangers still have 2 more games vs the White Sox to rebound from this loss. Kyle Gibson and Kohei Arihara will be the Rangers pitchers for the next 2 games.
