Mavericks Game Analysis: Lakers @ Mavericks 4/24

It’s a beautiful night to be a Mavericks fan as we take on the Los Angeles Lakers tonight for the second time in a row. The Mavericks are currently 32-26 and battling for better playoff position, currently seeded sixth in the tough Western Conference. The Lakers walk into the game with a record of 35-24, and despite their injuries are looking primed for a playoff run, currently seeded fifth. The Mavs have three players on the injury report, two being day-to-day, one being out. The players include Tyrell Terry who is out with personal reasons, the two others include Kristaps Porzingis who is questionable for the game with an ankle injury as well as Maxi Kleber who is questionable with a back injury. Three keys to winning this game is contain AD like we did on Thursday, Luka having a big game, and playing our bench bigs.

Ryan Michalesko

On Thursday Anthony Davis made his return from his injury, playing seventeen minutes, scoring four points and grabbing four rebounds. The Mavericks contained the star forward in his limited time, something they need to go again. If we can hold Anthony Davis under ten points, that’s a huge help to winning this game. Luka Doncic played amazing on Thursday against the Lakeshow, scoring thirty points, grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out nine assists, enough for the Mavericks to win by five. If Luka can put up similar or better numbers, this should be an easy win over a LeBronless squad. Last but not least, the Mavericks bench forwards and centers. With the possibility of Porzingis being out, we need to have our bench bigs play well against the scary tall Lakers. I expect another win if we follow these keys, winning by more than five this time. Game time is 8:30 PM EST in Dallas, hope you enjoyed reading, Shaney out.
