Knicks Game Analysis: Knicks @ Pelicans 4/14

The 28-27 New York Knicks play the 25-29 Pelicans in what will be a dog fight of a game in New Orleans. The Knicks are riding in on a three game win streak and trying to get their 29th win, which would put them in a higher seed than they currently are being the 8th seed. For the Knicks injuries, John Henson and Mitchell Robinson are both out for the game, both with lower body injuries. On the Pelicans side of things, James Johnson and James Nunnally are both day-to-day for the Pels, and Lonzo Ball, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Josh Hart are all out for the game. If the Knicks want to win the game, it’s a simple one. Stop. Zion. Williamson. Besides that, RJ Barrett needs to play good and we need to shoot better from the three point line.

Zion Williamson is 8th in the league in PPG averaging 26.8 currently. He also has ten double doubles on the season, another impressive stat for the sophomore star. If we can limit Zion, this game is a piece of cake for us. If Zion doesn’t have a monster game, this should be an easily winnable game with all of the injuries present. RJ Barrett last game only scored 7 points, something not happening often this season. If RJ goes off against his former Duke co-star, it could be game right there if Julius Randle plays well. This is the first time Zion and RJ have ever faced each other, something not being talked about enough. Lastly, we only made 5 threes against the Los Angeles Lakers, something that is abysmal. We need to shoot over 30% from three at the bare minimum, which I think we can do. I think the Knicks will take an overtime win tonight in a dog fight, as always, go Knicks!
