NFL Draft: Jaelan Phillips, the best pass rusher in the 2021 NFL Draft?

Strengths

Jaelan is an amazing run defender with it seeming almost second nature to him on film on how he is able to routinely bust open runs in the backfield. Because of this ability, Jaelan came up with 15.5 “Tackles for Loss” last season. Although he is an amazing run defender, he isn’t a one-trick pony. Jaelan also has supreme pass-rushing skills to rival almost any prospect to come out within the last 5 years. He can beat you with speed around the edge, he can beat you with finesse off a stunt, or his favorite of them all beating his defender with pure power-up inside with a simple yet extremely effective bull rush. For his efforts, he finished his junior campaign with an impressive 8.0 Sacks in just 10 games. If you aren’t already sold solely based on his production, his measurables will surely have you bought in. Jaelan stands at a staggering 6’5 inches and 260lbs, with an 81-inch-long wingspan, and oh yeah on top of that he is blazing fast running a 4.56 40 Yard Dash at his pro day.
