Knicks Game Analysis: Knicks @ Spurs 3/2

The 18-17 New York Knicks take on the 17-13 San Antonio Spurs today at 8:30 PM EST, and it is expected to be a dog fight. The Knicks are currently 4th seed in the eastern conference and if they lose tonight they can slip all the way into the 8th seed if enough things go wrong, so a lot is riding on this game. This is our second game of our lengthy road trip and 2nd to last game before going into the All-Star break for this year, something every team is needing for sure. The Knicks, like I said, need this win to stay competitive in the east, and it is totally feasible if we key in on my signature three keys to win as I have been doing. The keys are play uptempo, play good paint defense, and let RJ shoot.

The Spurs lost to the Brooklyn Nets mlast night in overtime in San Antonio, so while traveling isn’t a factor, the Spurs are for sure tired. If the Knicks can play suffocating and fast uptempo offense, we really could rally against a tired team on a back to back, and could dominate offensively. Secondly, we need to play good paint defense. This Spurs team has some incredible finishers and that is something we must stop tonight between Nerlens Noel and Taj and other bigs, and I think it is easily achievable. Lastly, let RJ Barrett shoot. RJ played incredibly last game, scoring 21 points and getting himself out of his slump he has been in, and this game will be huge in stopping that. If RJ goes off for another 20+ point performance with only the Pistons before the All-Star break, the slump will end and he’ll have a week or so to get ready for the second half of the season. I am ecstatic for the game at 8:30 EST, go Knicks!
