Another Milestone Reached for Alexis Lafreniere was Just one of the Many Great Things to happen to the Rangers Today

Against all odds today, the New York Rangers found a way to beat the Boston Bruins. The Rangers knew they would be without many key pieces in Panarin, Kakko, Trouba an Chytil. Instead of letting these injuries affect them, they rallied around all of their injured teammates and played dominant hockey. They made the Boston Bruins look like an AHL team. The rangers played better defense, offense and special teams. They were also able to outmatch the Bruins physicality which few teams can do. Every hit delivered by the Bruins, the Rangers retailed. They also forced Boston to make a lot of stupid mistakes. All off this combined for a dominant 6-2 win for the Rangers. Ryan Strome was without a doubt he best player on the ice today. He tallied a goal and 2 assist. The Rangers day started off with a Julien Gauthier goal. Gauthier tallied his 2nd goal of the season., both of his goals coming against the Bruins. The gates then flooded open with a 3 goal second period. Ryan Strome started off the second period with a goal. This goal was special, rookie Alexis Lafreniere tallied his first NHL assist. He sauced a beauty of a pass cross ice where Strome ripped a shot right over Tukka Rask. Patrice Bergeron would then make it 2-1 two minutes after that. With less than 2 minutes left the rangers tallied 2 goals in 8 seconds. The first goal was a tip in power play goal by Colin Blackwell from an Adam Fox shot. Kreider then netted a beautiful goal to make the game 4-1. Rangers the went on to score 2 more goals in the 3rd, one from the stick of Buchnevich and one from Jonny Brodzinski. This was Brodzinki’s 2nd game as a ranger and his first goal of the season. The final score was 6-2. Alexander Georgiev played an amazing game stopping 31 of 33 shots. The Rangers defense should not be left without recognition. They stopped many odd man rushes and blocked 9 shots. Lindgren was without a doubt our best defensemen. He was Marchand’s kryptonite. With the win, the Rangers now have 17 points on the year, 4 points behind 4th place. Their next game is Sunday against the Bruins at Noon. Hopefully Kappo Kakko and Filip Chytil will be back in the lineup for that game. Igor Shesterkin will probably be in net. As for us Ranger fans, hopefully this dominant physical play continues and by the time Panarin is back, we still have playoff hopes.

UPDATE: Julien Gauthier’s goal has now been credited to Ryan Lindgren
