Big News coming here in this Wednesday Morning. IF the Texans trade Watson the Jets will be the front-runners, this is what John McClain is reporting. This is huge because McClain is a very trusty source. He’s been reporting about the Texans for the last 45 years and works for the Houston Chronicle and has been right about things multiple times. As much as I would love this we can’t ignore what he said multiple times before saying the Jets would be a front-runner for Watson. He had said, “They don’t call teams, teams call them. And they’ve told everybody they’re not trading Watson. That doesn’t mean they won’t do it eventually.” Now, we do have to accept the fact it’ll take a LOT to get Houston to feel like they have to trade Watson. They’ll obviously trade him for the best trade package once they put him on the trade market, as we know the Jets can definitely provide the best offer. He had said that it doesn’t mean that they won’t eventually trade him, and that’s big. Here is the full video:
Personally, I am one of those ‘trade the farm for Watson’ people. I think that because we haven’t had a franchise QB for the last 53 years. We will also have tons of cap space so available we’ll be able to attract and sign free agents if we have Watson. On top of all of that, if Douglas is as good as a GM as we all think he is he’ll be able to draft good players in days 2 and 3 of the draft. This is a very interesting time for Jets fans and the Jets organization. It can either make or break us, this may be one of the most intense and important offseason’s in Jets History. We can either acquire a rookie in the draft, Carson Wentz, Jimmy Garoppolo, Deshaun Watson or even Russell Wilson. Here is a full transcript of the John McClain interview with SportsRadio 610:
John McClain: They [Houston Texans] don’t call teams, teams call them. And they’ve told everybody they’re not trading Watson. That doesn’t mean they won’t do it eventually. I guarantee you if they did, it would not be for Carson Wentz and the Eagles. And they’ve said it publicly and said it privately that they are not trading Watson. And so if anybody says they’ve called the Eagles, not true. If they trade him it would the Jets, so no they have not contacted anyone about trading Watson.
