Welcome to the second installment of our newest sport/series, BOXING! This will be a weekly series recaping the previous fights and previewing the coming fights. We’ve got some great fights to recap and some to preview! A couple weekends ago we had one of the best pound for pound boxers in Canelo Alvarez face off against former champion Callum Smith. Let’s not forget about GGG with a great KO against Szeremeta. Today we’ve got future bright star of boxing, Ryan Garcia face off against Luke Campbell. This should make for an interesting matchup!
(C) Gennady Golovkin v. Kamil Szeremeta

GGG defended his IBF Middleweight Championship in a mandatory title defense versus Kamil Szeremeta. Now, it seems as if GGG is back to his former self and looks in shape. Now, Szeremeta is no Canelo Alvarez but I wouldn’t be against a trilogy against the two. GGG now moves onto 41-1-1 (36 KO’s), with a 7th round TKO. This puts GGG is the perfect spot for a trilogy.
(C) Canelo Alvarez v. (C) Callum Smith

Canelo Alvarez did exactly what everyone thought he’d do. He kicked Callum Smith’s rear end. The contest was for the WBA Super Middleweight Title and WBC championship. After that absolute beatdown that Canelo gave Smith he is now 54-1-2 (36 KO’s), loss versus Floyd Mayweather and ties against Gennady Golovkin and Jorge Juarez. It was not as close as I thought it would be because Canelo is an absolute BEAST!
Preview: Ryan Garcia vs. Luke Campbell
Ryan Garcia will face his toughest opponent yet, he has gained lost of followers and love on the internet. His record stands at a great 20-0 (17 KOs), now my question is does Garcia really want to fight? He’s friends with the Paul brothers and has gotten really famous on social media. Why take all these hits if you can be successful from being a “internet entertainer”? Does he have that passion for the sport? Does he want to be that next great Mexican fighter? Does he want to be among the Julio César Chávez’s of the world? He will answer that question today when he faces Luke Campbell who also needs a win here. Campbell’s record is 20-3 (16 KOs), certainly not as impressive as Garcia but it’s not bad. He’s getting older and older and with a win he can show that he’s among the best and could be a great British fighter. He’s coming off of COVID-19 so we’ll see if he battled it well. My prediction is a win for Ryan Garcia, going the distance, a full 12 rounds.
