The New york Knicks have lost their third game of the season, snapping the 2 game win streak they had going on. While Toronto has won for the first time this season, leaving Pistons and Wizards as only teams without a W.
What went wrong for the Knicks?
At the first glance, it doesn’t look so bad, battles on boards were pretty even, both teams had the same amount of asists, Toronto even had more turnovers and fouls. So what made the game out of New York’s reach??? The Shooting. Especially three point shooting. Knicks had, wait for it… 3 out of 36 threes. 3 OUT OF 36 THREES. This pretty much says everything. It’s really hard to make a game close if you have 8% from beyond the arc. The craziest thing for me is that the Knicks still somehow had just 2 overall shots less made than Toronto and lead before the half.
Positives
Despite losing by 17, the Knicks had a solid game overall, highlighted by Kevin Knox scoring 16/6/1 off the bench. Austin Rivers had a pretty succesful debut as a Knick as well, him and Kevin really kept the game interesting. Rivers had 7/1/5 in 21 minutes.
