The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to terms with Free Agent Guard Tyler Johnson. After losing Nwaba to injury and being somewhat slim at the position, they got a replacement. Johnson was previously signed to a four year deal with the Phoenix Suns but was cut in February while being on the last year of that deal. The Nets have had their eyes on Johnson since 2016 until Johnson turned them down for the Heat. Now, the Nets finally got him, and he should be able to put some numbers up after averaging 5.7 points-per-game, 1.7 rebounds per game, and 1.6 assists in 16.6 minutes per-game. He is set to join the Nets in the Orlando NBA restart. He could provide some depth at the guard position. The Nets are also rumored to be interested in Otto Porter. They have been interested in Porter many previous times before when he was a Free Agent. Hopefully, I post an article on Porter signing in Brooklyn soon.
The Houston Rockets have signed David Nwaba to a two-year contract. But, sadly, due to injury, Nwaba won’t play in this year’s NBA restart. He played with the Nets earlier in the year until suffering a horrific Achillies injury that sat him out for the year. He averaged 5.2 points-per-game, 2.2 rebounds per game, and 0.4 assists per game in 20 games played. We wish him the best in Houston and recover from that awful injury.
The Brooklyn Nets have cut Theo Pinson. He built a culture in the locker and was the true essence of a great teammate. In 33 games, he’s averaged 3.6 points-per-game, 1.6 rebounds per game, and 1.7 assists per game. Not big numbers, but the impact he made in the locker room is unreplaceable. Theo Pinson will be missed.
This has been Jose Calderon III with FiveBoroughDispatch. Have a great everybody!
