Tyrese Haliburton
Height: 6’5
Weight: 175 LBS
Position: Point Guard
Team: Iowa Cyclones
Birthdate: February-29-2000
Tyrese Haliburton is a tall rangy Point Guard for Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa about 130 miles East of Omaha. Coming out of HighSchool Haliburton was not a highly-touted prospect only being a 3-STAR prospect despite that Tyrese received offers from the likes of; Cincinnati, Minnesota, Miami (OH), and Nebraska. Out of those offers, Haliburton only visited 3 schools; Cincinnati, Nebraska, and Iowa State were Haliburton later committed to. Arriving at Iowa State in 2018 Haliburton struggled mightily averaging; 6.8 PPG, 3.6 APG, and 3.4 RPG on 51.5% shooting. However, despite the lackluster Freshmen season, Haliburton stepped it up big in his Sophmore year putting up; 15.2 PPG, 6.5 APG, and 5.9 RPG on 50.4% shooting.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths
- 3-Point shooting, shooting an extraordinary 42.65% from beyond the arc.
- Jack of all trades, Haliburton is known to be at least okay at everything.
- Great facilitator, Tyrese averaged 5.9 assists in his Sophomore year at Iowa State.
- An extremely efficient shooter, while at Iowa State Haliburton never shot below 50% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc.
- Active hands while defending.
Weaknesses
- Jack of all trades but master of none.
- Haliburton has a small frame that allows him to occasionally get bodied down low.
- Awkward shooting mechanics. His shot appears to be more of a push shot rather than an arc.
- Less effective shot when contested.
- Lacks explosiveness.
BEST FIT

Verdict (My non-expert opinion)
Tyrese Haliburton is a swiss army knife of a Guard who can do just about anything you ask of him. Haliburton can rebound, pass, score, and defend. Many have him has there 4th best Point Guard on their board, however, I have him as the 3rd best Point Guard on my board ahead of Cole Anthony, Nico Mannion, and Kira Lewis Jr. Lastly, my projection for Haliburton is a fringe Al-Star/premier role player.
