When commitment day came RJ Hampton the #4 ranked high school basketball prospects on the ESPN top 100 shocked the country deciding to play overseas in the NBL for the New Zealand Breakers. This decision came as such a shock due to the offers he had received from the likes of; Duke, Kansas, University of Kentucky, Memphis, Baylor, Florida, and FSU. Since arriving in New Zealand Hampton has been nothing but lackluster and disappointing averaging; 8.8 PPG, 2.4 APG, and 3.8 RPG on 40% shooting from the field.

BEST FIT

Verdict
RJ Hampton is a speedy one-dimensional combo guard who offers little to no defense despite his size. For him to be a capable role/bench player he will need to fill out his frame and learn to play without the ball being constantly in his hands. My ceiling for him is a role player who will give you decent minutes and occasionally have a 20 point game.
