What would need to happen (Offense):
Without question for the New York Football Giants to make the playoffs in 2020 Saquon Barkley will need to have an All-pro caliber year. Additionally, Daniel Jones will need to improve greatly he will need to improve on protecting the ball while in the pocket and taking more check-downs if needed. Another thing that would need to occur if the New York Giants were to make the Playoffs in 2020 there would need to be a drastic improvement on the offensive line. The offensive line would need to improve greatly because this unit is the catalyst for Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley to succeed.
What would need to happen (defense):
With the acquisition of James Bradberry in free agency, Xavier Mckinney, and Darnay Holmes in the NFL Draft I fully expect the secondary to be our strongest unit this year. Despite our potential elite secondary, we will still need a #1 Pass rusher with Markus Golden still unsigned and Jadeveon Clowney out of the picture enter Oshane Ximines. Ximines impressed many in his rookie campaign in 2019 putting up; 4.5 sacks and 11 solo tackles on limited snaps for the New York Giants to make the playoffs in 2020 Ximines will need to have a big year putting up 10+ sacks.
